TESTIMONIALS
“A quick note of appreciation, you are running a first class operation, your trip exceeded all of our expectations. The food and the lodging was first rate. We loved our Cabin at the Ranch and the food was incredible. Having some connection with the local folks was really nice. We enjoyed visiting with Foss and David in the morning. Foss is a tremendous cook. We did not expect to have such a talented and interesting person all to ourselves. Please pass a heartfelt thank you to both for the warm hospitality.
The Camas is breathtaking. The snowkiting potential is limitless. Our quick stay there has just wet our appetite for more. It is quite an accomplishment keeping three anxious and twitchy snowkiters entertained while waiting for wind but you did deliver.
Great job Brad! We are all really glad we came.” – Misha, Matt, Cory – Flysurfer snowkiters Edmonton Canada
I just returned from an extended weekend of snowkiting in Idaho. This has been one of the best snowkite trips I have taken yet.
Brad Gordon’s Thermal Foundation Snowkiting adventure is one way to experience the sport.
Fly into the Boise airport or just drive over like I did (8 hours to Boise from Seattle).
Once you arrive, everything is taken care of for you. Brad’s package includes accommodations, food, and ground transportation. I can’t really say enough about the meals as they were prepared by gourmet chef Faus Corlett of Sandhill Farms. Every day I would wake up to a gourmet breakfast, then off to the snow fields with Brad. He spends the morning studying the terrain maps and weather conditions. Once the location is determined, we head out with his Snow kite assault vehicle. Brad spends time with all guests getting to understand the conditions and terrain prior to heading out. That way everyone is aware of the conditions and where exactly to ride. The riding area is endless and easy to become separated from the others if not paying attention. No fun to be miles away and have the wind shut down. If this happens snowmobile rescue is one of the ways to get out. Other options include packing it up and skiing out. If snowboarding, it is recommended that you use a backpack and carry snowshoes for walking out. After a hard day of riding, we travel back to the ranch for a hot bowl of soup followed by a nice soak in the hot tub. Sharing some beers between friends, we then head off to the dining area for another gourmet meal by Sandhill Farms and follow it up with some berry cobbler. Soldier Mountain Ranch is located just outside of Fairfield and offers a nice secluded setting, with cabins that are large and have a full kitchen. I liked this experience so much, I’m doing it again soon. - Jim Stringfellow
“Brad has helped pioneer the sport of snowkiting in the Northwest and has the first snowkite accent up Mt. Rainier’s Muir snowfield in 2004. Always approachable and friendly, Brad will help you fine-tune your skills on the water and the snow. His influence on snowkiting really began this winter after snagging the coveted 1st place finish in both 2008 Montana Snowkite Rodeo & the US Snowkite Masters in Skyline, UT! We hope that with Brad’s help, we can continue to grow the sport of snowkiting through exploring new locations, holding instructional clinics, and putting on a competition of our own in the Northwest. Not to be overshadowed by his snowkiting accomplishments, Brad is also a phenomenal kiteboarder on the water and in the surf. He’s constantly pushing himself and is always blowing our minds with his unhooked style.” – motionboardshop
“One day it was so fun I snowkited for seven hours straight, next year I’m bring my RV and going for a week!”- Mike Hill
“Brad Gordon’s passion for snowkiting is unparalleled. During the past three seasons, I’ve traveled with Brad to remote spots around the country seeking out the best terrain and optimal conditions. His stoke for the sport is so genuine, he inspires me to “pump up” even on the not so epic days, because you never know if it’s going to “blow” tomorrow! Matt Thames
