BIO’S
My name is Brad Gordon, the founder of Thermal Foundation, which is a small snowkite operation based out of Fairfield, Idaho. Snowkiting has allowed me to combine two passions; kiteboarding on water and sking deep powder! During the past 25 years I’ve been involved with all facets of sking; pro-patrolling, sales repping, filming, instructing, competing in regional freesking events. After kiting on water for years, snowkiting was just hard wired in. Ever since I got “yarded” around on an older C kite across a frozen lake near Snoqualmie Pass, WA (circa 2004) it didn’t take long to figure out this was the next direction for wintertime fun.
In the Summer months I live in the outdoor sports capital of the west coast, Hood River, OR. You’ll probably find me kiting up to the “Hatch” or central Oregon coast, mtn biking, MX trail riding, paragliding, fixing whatever is broken, or guiding bicycle tours for Bicycle Adventures.
Sharing my stoke for the sport is what Thermal Foundation is all about.
The name “Thermal Foundation” came from the idea that thermal winds create optimal conditions – it’s like the ingredients, the basis or critical foundation for wind to blow. Thermal Foundation is where it all starts!
